1. Minister's Schedules
Minister Cho Myoung Gyon will deliver
a keynote speech at the Korea Global Forum(KGF) 2017 tomorrow(10.17)
at 9:30 A.M.
On Wednesday(10.18), Minister Cho
will deliver a special lecture at an academy for senior leaders of
the R.O.K. and China at 7 A.M. Minister Cho will then attend a
meeting of the support committee for the Pyeongchang Olympic and
Paralympic Winter Games at 10 A.M.
On Friday(10.20), Minster Cho will
deliver a welcoming speech at the 2017 Gangwon Peace and Unification
Forum at 1:30 P.M.
2. Vice Minister's Schedules
Vice Minister Chun Haesung will
attend the video conference cabinet meeting tomorrow(10.17) at 10
A.M. in place of Minister Cho who will be attending the KGF 2017.
On Thursday(10.19) Vice Minister Chun
will deliver congratulatory remarks at a forum hosted by the Sejong
Institute at 9:30 A.M. Vice Minister Chun will then sit down for a
meeting with Poland’s Deputy Foreign Minister Marek Magierowski at
11:20 A.M. At 3 P.M., Vice Minister Chun will deliver congratulatory
remarks at the Korean Academy of Unification for Dentistry’s
academic conference, and attend the vice-ministers’ conference at
4:30 P.M.
On Friday(10.20), Vice Minister Chun
will deliver a commemorative speech at an academic conference
co-hosted by the Institute for Unification Education and the Korean
Association of North Korean Studies at 1:30 P.M.
On Saturday(10.21), Vice Minister
Chun will give a congratulatory speech and deliver awards at the
opening ceremony of the Gangwon Peace and Unification Festival at 6 P.M.
3. Unification Ministry to hold
Korea Global Forum 2017
The Ministry of Unification is
holding the Korea Global Forum 2017 tomorrow(10.17) under the theme
of ‘New Paths to Peace on the Korean Peninsula through International Cooperation.’
The forum will be an opportunity to
analyze current security situations and discuss methods of
international cooperation for peace on the Korean Peninsula.
The Unification Ministry seeks to
solve the North Korean nuclear issue, build a peaceful Korean
Peninsula, and improve inter-Korean relations through various
diplomatic efforts on unification including this forum. We will work
to strengthen the support of neighboring countries and formulate an
international consensus for the peaceful unification of the Korean peninsula.
