media reported that Kim Jong Un provided field guidance for the
preparations for the construction of the Onpho greenhouse farm, at
construction sites in Samjiyon County, and at the Myohyangsan Medical
Appliances Factory; and participated in the funeral service for Kim
Yong Chun, Marshal of the Korean People’s Army and member of the
Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
On August 18, the North Korean media encouraged the people to wage
the dynamic campaign for increased production by sharing their
achievements and experiences.
On August 21, the North Korean media urged those people high in
class self-respect to make a great leap forward and realize innovation
in the grand march for economic construction.
On August 22, the North Korean media emphasized the reactionary
poisoning of bourgeois ideology and culture.
On August 23, the North Korean media argued that the dynamic
campaign for increased production is a grand march by all of the
people and a campaign that shows their loyalty to the party while
safeguarding the party.
On August 24, the North Korean media reported on Typhoon Soulik.

On August 20, the North Korean media
called on the ROK government to stick to the original position on the
implementation of the Panmunjeom Declaration.
On August 21, the North Korean media insisted on the adoption of a
declaration ending the Korean War while emphasizing the implementation
of the Panmunjeom Declaration.
On August 23, the North Korean media reported on the reunions of
separated family members from South and North Korea.
【Foreign Affairs】
On August 18, the North Korean media
called on US President Trump to make a decision on formally ending the
war by arguing that “the US’s end-of-war declaration is a political declaration.”
On August 22, the North Korean media reported that on the occasion
of the 108th anniversary of the Korea-Japan Annexation Treaty, a
spokesperson for the Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee, in a
statement, urged Japan to settle its past.
On August 23, the North Korean media asserted that the victory of
socialism is the truth and the principle of historical development.
On August 24, the North Korean media condemned the ROK’s
conservative parties and the US for “obstructing the reunification of Korea.”
