1. Acting Minister's Schedule

Acting Minister Suh Ho will attend the cabinet meeting at 7:50 A.M. tomorrow.

On July 2, Mr. Suh will attend the vice-ministers’ conference at 10:30 A.M.

2. Q&A (Extract)

Q. Tomorrow marks one year since the Panmunjeom meeting between Presidents Moon and Trump and Chairman Kim. Though Kim has put military action plans against the South on hold, inter-Korean relations are still strained and denuclearization talks between the U.S. and North Korea has remained stalled. Does the Government have any comments?

A. The ROKG will seek to improve inter-Korean relations and settle peace on the Korean Peninsula while carefully considering current situations.

Q. I am aware that a hearing is being held regarding the cancellation of two civic groups’ status as non-profit corporations. Could you explain which parties are attending the hearing and what procedures are to be taken?

A. Under the attendance of the civic group in question and related Unification Ministry officials, a third-party is presiding over the hearing.

In accordance with the Administrative Procedures Act, the hearing is part of the procedure under which concerned parties express opinions before the administrative agency issues a disposition. After the hearing session, concerned parties may inspect and review the contents of the hearing record and request a correction if they have an objection. The presiding official can conclude the hearing when he/she deems that the presentation of opinions by concerned parties and the examination of evidence regarding the relevant case have been completed.

Q. Has the Unification Ministry revoked business permits of any other non-profit corporations in the past?

A. I do not have the relevant information to provide an answer.

(*The Ministry confirms that there have been 18 such cases in the past decade.)
