1. Ministry to hold the International Dialogue on North Korean Human Rights
On December 14, the Unification Ministry will hold the International
Dialogue on North Korean Human Rights at the Swiss Grand Hotel in
Seoul under the theme of Issues and Challenges of Human Rights in
North Korea.
The Ministry has been holding international seminars on North Korean
human rights every year since 2017. This year, the International
Dialogue on North Korean Human Rights, sponsored by the UN Human
Rights Office in Seoul and co-planned by Lee Shin-wha, Ambassador for
International Cooperation on North Korean Human Rights, will convene
experts at home and abroad to delve into human rights issues in North Korea.
Unification Minister Kwon Youngse will deliver opening remarks, and
the event will be aired through the Unification Ministry’s YouTube channel.
2. Ministry to hold a forum on a denuclearized, peaceful, and
prosperous Korean Peninsula
On December 14, the Unification Ministry and Chungcheongnam-do will
hold an open forum for the provincial residents on a denuclearized,
peaceful, and prosperous Korean Peninsula.
As a way of providing a platform for various opinions and public
consensus on denuclearization and peace, the Ministry jointly held
forums in the past with Incheon in 2020 and Gangwon-do in 2021.
Minister Kwon Youngse will attend the event and deliver remarks.
The Ministry is looking forward to seeing that this event will help
enhance public understanding and consensus of the Audacious Initiatives.
3. Ministry to hold the International South-North Korea Joint
Economic Development Plan Forum 2022
On December 16, the Ministry will hold the International South-North
Korea Joint Economic Development Plan Forum 2022.
This forum will bring experts at home and abroad to share the
significance, the vision, and the future direction of the South-North
Korea joint economic development plan and seek ways to cooperate with
the international community. Minister Kwon will deliver opening
remarks at the event.
4. Minister’s Schedule
On December 13, Minister Kwon will attend an event celebrating the
24th anniversary of the Korean Council for Reconciliation and
Cooperation and deliver congratulatory remarks.
On December 16, Minister Kwon will hold a policy briefing for
ambassadors to Korea and international organizations.
5. Vice Minister’s Schedule
On December 16, Vice Minister Kim Ki Woong will provide
congratulatory remarks at a course completion ceremony held at the
National Institute for Unification Education.
