It is important for the young generation to understand the reality of
life in North Korea as they are the key to preparing for a free unification
A talk concert on stories about North Korea was held (September 20)
On September 20, the Ministry of Unification held a talk concert on
stories about North Korea at the Inter-Korean Cultural Integration Center.
The event brought together young South and North Koreans to discuss
the realities of North Korea in terms of the university entrance exam,
employment, digital, Hallyu, and others.
Unification Minister Kim Yung Ho also took part in the discussion
with young North Korean defectors, university students and young
people, and local residents, and they looked into the realities of
North Korea, which cannot be learned in books.
“I hope that through dialogues with North Korean defectors who are
part of the millennial and Generation Z generations, also referred to
as the ‘Jangmadang (free market) generation,’ we can gain firsthand
insights into the realities of North Korean society,” said Minister
Kim. He added that the ministry is planning to carry out various
projects to inform the public about the realities of North Korea.
The talk concert is to be held in five cities across the country,
starting with Seoul, throughout this year, covering various topics.
