Trainees at Hanawon participated in volunteer work to share
samgyetang (chicken soup with ginseng) on July 12. Hanawon trainees,
in cooperation with the Korean Red Cross, made and delivered
samgyetang, kimchi, and watermelon salad to people in need and elderly
persons living alone (60 households) in Jongno-gu and Jung-gu, Seoul
just before Chobok (one of the hottest days of summer).
Hanawon director Lim Byeong-cheol said that “Trainees at Hanawon are
practicing sharing for seniors who live alone and children with
disabilities, which is a small but important thing. I expect that
these experiences at Hanawon will develop into greater caring for
others when they settle in South Korean society.”
This volunteer work was hosted by Hanawon, organized by the Korean
Red Cross, and sponsored by Harim Co., Ltd.
