The unified Korean women’s basketball team grabbed the silver medal
in the final game, a 71-65 loss against China at the Gelora Bung Karno
Main Stadium in Jakarta on September 1.
This was the fourth medal by “COR” after three medals from the
dragon boat racing in canoeing. The team had only been able to train
together for just one month, but the South and North Korean athletes
became one, threw a shot for peace, and achieved this tremendous result.
The 2018 Asian Games will close at the Gelora Bung Karno Main
Stadium in Jakarta at 9 p.m. (KST) on September 2. South and North
Korea will march together under one flag carried by two table tennis
players, Shu Hyo-won from the South and Choe Il from the North, during
the closing ceremony.
