The special delegation to North Korea left for Pyeongyang.

The delegation including Chung Eui-yong, the national security adviser to President Moon; Suh Hoon, chief of the National Intelligence Service; Vice Unification Minister Chun Hae-sung; Kim Sang-gyun, a senior National Intelligence Service official; and Yun Kun-young, presidential secretary for state affairs were seen off by Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon at Seoul’s Seongnam airport.

Chung Eui-yong, a special envoy of South Korean President Moon Jae-in to North Korea, bowed his head to the senior officials and reporters seeing him off, saying “We will return safely,” before boarding an aircraft.

The special delegation plans to visit Pyeongyang on a one-day trip, discuss outstanding issues including the inter-Korean summit scheduled to be held in Pyeongyang in September, and then return to Seoul tonight.
