South and North Korea hold the fifth inter-Korean high-level talks

The fifth inter-Korean high-level talks are held at the Peace House on the South Korean side of Panmunjeom on October 15.

Before departing for Panmunjeom, Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon, the chief delegate, said, “We will check the progress in the implementation of the Panmunjeom Declaration and discuss what still needs to be done….We will discuss the inter-Korean summit to be held this fall as agreed in the Panmunjeom Declaration after we hear the North’s position and inform them of our position.”

The South Korean delegation led by Minister Cho consists of Vice Unification Minister Chun Hae-sung, Vice Land and Transport Minister Kim Jeong-ryeol, Vice Sports Minister Roh Tae-gang, and Director-General Ahn Moon-hyun from the Prime Minister’s Office.

Their North Korean counterparts headed by Chairman Ri Son Gwon of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country, include Vice Railroad Minister Kim Yun Hyok, Vice Minister for Land and Environmental Protection Pak Ho Yong, Vice Sports Minister Won Kil U, and Vice Chairman Pak Myong Chol of the National Economic Cooperation Committee.
