Unification Minister Kim visits the Korean Red Cross

On April 15, Unification Minister Kim Yeon Chul visited the Korean Red Cross in Jung-gu, Seoul and looked at the facilities for video reunions of separated families, which are being remodeled.
Minister Kim said, “I think that we need to begin discussions with the North as soon as possible. The government has a heavy sense of responsibility for the separated families.”
He added, “Reunions of separated families at the permanent reunion center, video reunions of separated families, and exchange of video messages were agreed at the Pyeongyang Joint Declaration of September 2018, and the government will do everything it can to honor the agreements.”
The government started the remodeling of 13 facilities for video reunions of separated families on April 3 and plans to finish the work by the end of this month.
