Unification Minister Kim meets with Japanese Ambassador to South
Korea Yasumasa Nagamine
Unification Minister Kim Yeon Chul met with Japanese Ambassador to
South Korea Yasumasa Nagamine at the Government Complex Seoul on April 17.
Since his inauguration on April 8, this was his third meeting with
an ambassador from an important country following US Ambassador to
South Korea Harry Harris on April 16 and Chinese Ambassador to South
Korea Qiu Guohong on April 17.
Minister Kim said, “I hope that South Korea and Japan work more
closely together in the process of establishing peace on the Korean
Peninsula.” Ambassador Yasumasa Nagamine said, “I am well aware that
you the Minister has extensive knowledge and experience in affairs
concerned with the Korean Peninsula. You were inaugurated at an
important time with the first anniversary of the Panmunjeom
Declaration (April 27) just a few weeks away, so I hope you can play
an active role.”
