On June 30, Minister Kwon Youngse met with the members of the Korea
NGO Council for Cooperation with North Korea (KNCCK).
Minister Kwon Youngse emphasized that both the public and private
sectors should work together on humanitarian cooperation to
substantially improve living conditions for North Korean residents. He
also asked private organizations to provide advice and insights using
their diverse experience in the field.
Chairman Bang In-seong highlighted the KNCCK’s past efforts to
ensure transparency and credibility in humanitarian cooperation with
the North. He emphasized the need for close cooperation between the
Government and the private sector to resume and revitalize
inter-Korean humanitarian cooperation.
Both sides shared the desire to expand communication and cooperation
opportunities in humanitarian matters by expanding the public–private
partnership in the future.
