On the occasion of the KINU's 32nd foundation anniversary, Minister
Kwon attended the academic conference on 'Vision and Strategy for a
nuclear-free, peaceful and prosperous Korean Peninsula' and gave his
congratulatory remarks.
Minister Kwon said, "As countries around the world are busy
furthering their national interests without falling behind amid the
rapidly changing situation, we will take the initiative and respond
actively to North Korean issues such as the nuclear risk".
"The Yoon administration has a strong understanding of the
changes occurring in the unification situation, and we will establish
a new unification vision and policies that can be sustained over
several generations," he added.
Moreover, he stated that "the Yoon administration will not stop
making efforts to improve the human rights and humanitarian situation
of the North Korean people" and added "while sharing the
reality of the situation in North Korea, we will establish the
conditions to substantially improve human rights in the North".
