Unification Minister Kim Yung Ho delivers a lecture for the Korea
Freedom Federation (February 28)
On February 28, Unification Minister Kim Yung Ho attended a regular
general meeting of the Korea Freedom Federation for 2024 and delivered
a special lecture on the theme of the “Recent North Korean Situation
and Socioeconomic Aspects.”
The event was attended by around 150 members of the federation,
including the president.
During his lecture, Minister Kim emphasized that we “should take
note of the fact that North Korean residents are progressing towards
the direction we hope for,” despite social control imposed on them by
the North Korean authorities.
Moreover, Minister Kim explained that the recent shift in North
Korea’s policy towards South Korea aims to “block North Korean
residents’ admiration for South Korean society and justify nuclear
development and military threats by fueling hostility.”
The minister also emphasized that having a proper understanding of
the reality of North Korea is the foundation for peaceful unification
based on the liberal democratic order. He further asked members of the
Korea Freedom Federation to join the efforts in spreading the
realities of North Korea.
