The government approved on July 19 the applications of 15
South Koreans to visit North Korea from July 20 to 23. The South Koreans plan to
discuss the possible co-hosting of National Liberation Day (August 15)
celebrations with North Koreans.
The Korean Council for Reconciliation and Cooperation
(KCRC) had originally filed an application to request the Ministry of
Unification to permit its leader Cho Seong-woo and 17 other members to visit
Pyongyang, but one applicant was turned down and two others withdrew their
applications for personal reasons. |
