O Unification Minster and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National Security Council Chung Dong-Young will make a four-day visit to China from Dec. 21 to 24 as a special presidential envoy.
O During the visit, Minister Chung will make a courtesy visit to Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Wu Bangguo, and have high-ranking political consultation meetings with Chinese officials such as State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Li Zhaoxing and head of International Liaison Department Wang Jiarui to seek ways of promoting ROK-Chinese relations and resolving pending issues such as North Korean nuclear issue.
O In addition, Minister Chung will deliver a special lecture on The Era of Peaceful and Prosperous Northeast Asia and the Korean Peninsula in Beijing University, and, on his way back, visit Shanghai to make an inspection of Pudong area and the Shuzhou Industrial Park.
