O Vice Unification Minister Rhee Bong-Jo made the Agreement on Exchange of Electronic Information with the Librarian of the National Assembly Library Bae Yong-Soo on Dec. 29, 2004 at the National Assembly Library
- The Ministry of Unification (MOU) will be able to use approximately four million pieces of electronic information accumulated by the National Assembly Library (NAL), and the NAL will also be able to use e-information on unification and North Korea provided by the MOU
O Starting from early January of 2005, those who visit the Information Center on North Korea of the MOU (located on the sixth floor of the Gwanghwamun Post Office building) will use information regarding unification and North Korea through such service in a more convenient manner
O The MOU is now trying to make similar agreement on information exchange with related organizations such as the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security, Korea Institute for National Unification and the Institute for Far Eastern Studies at Kyungnam University, and will continue that effort with other organizations
O The agreement enables people to use e-information provided by various governmental organizations in a comprehensive, convenient manner
- Information sharing among governmental organizations also saves cost of purchasing materials and building database
