Meeting with the Council of Companies Stationed at Gaeseong Industrial Complex on the North's Suspension (March 13) of Land Route Passage
Minister Hyun had a meeting with the representatives of the entrepreneurs stationed at Gaeseong Industrial Complex at 11 o'clock on March 15.
- Twenty-six representatives were present.
The Minister extended a consolation to those companies which are having significant difficulties due to the North's unilateral measure of suspending land route passage on March 13, followed by its measure on March 9.
- The Minister explained the government's position on the current situation and how the situation has evolved so far. The representatives delivered the Minister their difficulties and opinion on the current situation.
The representatives including Chairman Mun Chang-seop of the council of the companies stationed at Gaeseong Industrial Complex explained that they are having significant difficulties as orders have been canceled and they were not able to transport raw and subsidiary materials to their factories at GIC. They appealed for the government's aggressive action to address the situation.
The ROK government is closely looking into the matters raised during the meeting and taking every necessary measure to address the current situation.
