With regard to the next round of inter-Korean working-level meeting on tourism to Mt. Geumgang and the GIC
l Late yesterday afternoon the Asia Pacific Peace Committee (APPC) delivered the
Ministry of Unification a notification that it accepted our proposal to have a working-level meeting on tourism to Mt. Geumgang and the Gaesung Industrial Complex in Gaesung.
- According to the notification, the DPRK authority will deploy 3 delegates led by a member of the APPC to the meeting.
l In response, the DPRK government sent a reply in the name of the Unification Ministry to the United Front Department of North Korea this afternoon.
- We emphasized that a high-ranking official from the DPRK authority should be a leader of the North delegation for the next working-level meeting so that North and South Korea could discuss issues related security guarantee for tourists and urged the North to inform us of the list of its delegation.
