With regard to the next round of inter-Korean working-level meeting on Mt. Geumgang and the GIC tourism
l Late yesterday afternoon the Korean Asia-Pacific Peace Committee (KAPPC) delivered the Ministry of Unification a notification that it accepted our proposal to have a working-level meeting on Mt. Geumgang and the GIC tourism in Gaesung.
- According to the notification, the DPRK authority would deploy 3 delegates led by a member of the KAPPC to the meeting.
l In response, the ROK government sent a reply in the name of the Unification Ministry to the United Front Department of North Korea this afternoon.
- We emphasized that a high-ranking official from the DPRK authorities should be a leader of the North delegation so that North and South Korea could discuss issues related to security guarantee for tourists, and we urged the North to inform us of the list of its delegation.
