North Korea delivered a notification to Hyundai on freezing property in the Mt. Geumgang resort area
l On April 9, North Korea s Guidance Bureau for Comprehensive Development of Scenic Spots notified Hyundai that North Korea would implement what it had announced a day earlier on April 13.
- The Government was informed by the company on the notification.
l It said that Pyungyang would start to seize the real estate owned by the Government and the Korea Tourism Organization including a reunion center for separated families of the two Koreas, a fire station, a cultural hall, a hot springs and a duty-free shop. It demanded the property owners and South Korean officials to appear at the resort on April 13 when North Korea carries out the measure.
- In addition, it reiterated that three companies which had failed to attend the property survey conducted last month would have their business rights invalid and the employees would be banned from going to Mt. Geumgang.
