  • After watching TV news reports on the accident, they decided to put part of the resettlement subsidy apart to support the families of the victims and actually donated their money from 1,000 to 30,000 won.

  • The defectors said that they hoped to pay tribute to the sailors noble sprit of sacrifice along with the people and to return the love they got from the public after coming to Korea.

  • In February, when a massive earthquake hit Haiti, North Korean defectors who then stayed at the center participated in a nationwide donation campaign to aid people in Haiti. All Koreans were so touched by their warm hearts.
