North Korea would release the ship and the crew of the Daeseung 55
l North Korea s Red Cross sent a message to its South Korean counterpart on September 6 that the ship and the crewmen of the Daeseung 55, a fishing boat captured by North Korea a month ago, would be freed near the maritime border in the East Sea at 4 p.m. September 7.
l The Government is going to take them over at the place and the time as notified by the North.
l The KCNA said on August 19 that the fishing boat had been investigated after being towed near the North s exclusive economic zone on August 8.
l Seoul repeatedly urged Pyongyang to return them as soon as possible in the name of the president of South Korea s Red Cross on August 11 and 20.
