North and South Koreas agreed to hold the next family reunion at the reunion center near Mt. Geumgang from October 30 to November 5
l The North and the South today held the 3rd inter-Korean Red Cross working-level talks at the Janamsan Hotel in Kaesong and reached an agreement on the next family reunion and an inter-Korean Red Cross talks.

1. A family reunion
The number of families hosted: 100 from the North and the South respectively
Meetings: 100 North Koreans to meet their separated family members coming from South Korea (Oct 30 to Nov 1) 100 South Koreans to meet their separated family members living in North Korea (Nov 3 to 5)
Process: Exchanging survival confirmation request (Oct 5) Exchanging the result of confirmation (Oct 18) Exchanging the final list of participants (Oct 20)
Officials are going to be sent to the reunion venues 5 days before the event to check the preparations.

2. An inter-Korean Red Cross talks will be held from October 26 to 27 to discuss humanitarian issues including having family reunions on a regular basis.
l When it came to the location of the reunion, South Korean representatives insisted that it be considered separate from other issues as the reunion is a humanitarian issue.
- Their North Korean counterpart ended up agreeing to hold the next family reunion at the reunion center without preconditions.
- They, however, emphasized the need of an inter-Korean governmental talks to resolve issues on the tour resort at Mt. Geumgang including the reunion center.
l South Korea s Red Cross will closely discuss with the Government and make thorough preparations for the event.
- In addition, we will continue to be committed to seeking fundamental solutions to issues related to families separated by the Korean War by making reunions regular through inter-Korean Red Cross talks.
