Press Release (November 2)

A launching ceremony for a special IPTV program on unification to be held

The Ministry of Unification is going to hold a ceremony to launch a special IPTV program for unification education at schools at 4:30 p.m. November 5 at an international conference room in the government complex annex building. The event is to celebrate the completion of one of 8 special IPTV programs on unification.

l       The program titled A unification reporter goes to a reunified nation: Germany will be previewed and 3 main actors starred in it will be designated as the Ministry s special ambassadors.

The first special program aims to show what a unified country looks like in the eye of teen-age youths so that Korean students can think about the future after the North and the South are unified.

l       The program that will be run on IPTV from November will be used as an educational material at schools.

l       Seven more programs are scheduled to be produced.

Three teen TV stars – Bak Ji-bin (appeared in King Jung Jo), Nam Ji-hyeon (in Queen Seon Deok) and Yeo Jin-gu (in Giant) – voluntarily participated in making the program and talked about unification from teens perspectives. For this reason, they will be designated as our ambassadors to promote unification education for teens.

l       They will take part in various events to enhance unification awareness among teenagers from November 5 to December 31 this year.

The Ministry will continue to develop contents for unification education considering teenagers changing interest, through which we believe they can learn about unification with fun and have the right idea about it.

l        Contents we develop will be provided over IPTVs and servers at elementary and middle schools throughout the country and used for educational materials.
