□ Since President Lee Myung-bak delivered a Liberation day address on August 15, 2010, which put an emphasis on a path to unification on the Korean peninsula, Ministry of Unification has promoted a project to lay out groundwork for unification. As part of the project, Ministry of Unification designated Yonsei University and Research & Research, Inc. as partners to make unification a national issue in business circle. Recently, the two partners probed the opinion of more than one thousand Korean business executives on their recognition regarding unification and ideas to finance unification.

□ According to the poll, majority of businessmen(90.3 %) answered that South Korea is not prepared for unification. 72.3 %of the respondents said that South Korea should be prepared to pay for unification from now. 51.1% suggested to create fund while 10.8% and 9.8% proposed to collect additional tax and to issue bonds respectively to finance unification.
