□ Ministry of Unification and ROK Red Cross will conduct a survey of 82,000 separated families who registered in Integrated Information System for Separated Families to find their missing family members.
- This is the first survey of separated families registered in Integrated Information System for Separated Families since the Act on Inter-Korean Confirmation of the Life or Death of Separated Families and Promotion of Exchange was enacted in March 2009.
- The result of the survey is expected to help confirm the fate of the family members, provide basic data in preparing for regular family reunion, and give vital information in making separated family policies.
□ After planning and promotion, the survey is slated to start from mid-April to late August.
- Telephone survey will be conducted first. For those who cannot be reached via phone, researchers will visit them in person.
- Metrix Corporation is commissioned to conduct the survey.
□ The results of the survey will be released to public.
