Ulchi Focus Lens (UFL) Exercise is conducted from Aug. 18 to 21.

Separated families are invited to local events held in various areas to mark the August 15 National Independence Day from Aug. 19 to 29.
- Forty to one hundred separated families (500 in total) are invited according to the scale of each areas including Busan, Gwangju, Daegu, Daejeon, Jeonju, Chuncheon and Jeju.
Institute for Unification Education holds an NGOs workshop in support of saeteomin, new settlers, from Aug. 22 to 23. During the workshop, 107 representatives from 78 private organizations including saeteomin support groups discuss over improving support policies for saeteomin.
Institute for Unification Education holds a special seminar on North Korea policy for the Chinese students at Kyung Hee University s Institute of International Education on Aug. 20.
Follow-up measures according to the conclusion from deliberation councils held from the 5th to 8th are taken. Agreements and payment claims are received and consolation payments are paid.
The number of participants in unification education: 947 people are receiving unification education in six courses.
