Presentation of 'Unification Jar' to the Chairman of the National Assembly and Donations to the Jar
□ The Minister of Unification paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the National Assembly and presented a 'Unification Jar.' On the occasion, the minister made clear that 'Unification Jar' is not a mere fund-raising campaign but a symbol of our preparations for the national unification as well as an effort to garner people's commitment towards reunification.
o Chairman Kang Chang Hee of the National Assembly highly praised the government's preparatory efforts for unification and made a donation to the jar.
□ The Unification Minister, Vice Minister, and senior officials voluntarily contributed their salary to the jar which amounts to KRW 30 million.
□ We believe that the 'Unification Jar' will help boost confidence and strengthen their sense of responsibility toward unification while giving hope to North Koreans. Moreover, it will demonstrate Korea's firm commitment toward reunification to the international community. We ask for active interest and support of the public.
