Ministry of Unification’s Statement
The Korean government deeply regrets that North Korea today announced a tentative suspension of the Gaeseong Industrial Complex(GIC) and the withdrawal of all its workers in a statement by Kim Yang Gon, Director for the United Front Department of Korean Workers’ Party.
North Korea’s unilateral decision to push ahead with this measure cannot be justified in any way and North Korea will be held responsible for all the consequences.
The Korean government will calmly but firmly handle North Korea’s indiscreet action and we will do our best to secure the safety of our people and the protection of our property.
