R.O.K. Government’s Stance on North Korea’s New Year Address
January 1st 2015
- The R.O.K. government takes the progressive attitude on inter-Korean dialogue and exchange presented in the New Year Address by North Korea’s First Chairman of the National Defense Commission Kim Jong Un meaningfully.
- Our government believes that it is necessary for South and North Korea to hold practical and frank discussions on all issues of mutual interest including that of the separated families, the most tragic outcome of the division on the Korean Peninsula, and high-level talks, which the North proposed today.
- Based on such stance, the R.O.K. government hopes that inter-Korean dialogue can be held in the near future regardless of the dialogue level or formality.
