regarding the 17th Anniversary of the
June 15 Joint Declaration

□ It has been 17 years since the June 15 Joint Declaration was signed by the leaders of South and North Korea at the 2000 Inter-Korean summit meeting.
□ The June 15 Joint Declaration, the first inter-Korean agreement by the leaders since division, paved the way for dialogue and exchanges in various fields as well as efforts to solve the separated families issue. This was a milestone breaking new grounds for reconciliation and cooperation.
□ The ideology of reconciliation and cooperation is of great significance even under current stern situations.
□ South and North Korea should respect and implement the June 15 Joint Declaration, striving for reconciliation and cooperation as well as peace on the Korean peninsula, which the leaders had envisioned 17 years ago.
