The Ministry of Unification hosts the 36th College (Graduate School) Student Unification Thesis and Unification Promotional Video Contest from June 22 to October 10 in order to provide college and graduate school students with an opportunity to think about issues regarding North Korea and unification and devise innovative policies on unification.
Since its inception in 1982, the Unification Thesis Contest has encouraged research on unification and North Korea at colleges and graduate schools.
The Contest is open to all college or graduate school students, overseas Koreans, and Korean students studying abroad, including students on leave of absence. It is also possible for two students to jointly participate in the contest. The thesis and video should be about preparation for unification and building interest in and consensus on unification.
The thesis should be about 25 A4 pages (summary excluded), and the video should be about one minute and have resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Both should be in Korean and should be submitted at the website for the Institute for Unification Education (www.uniedu.go.kr).
The Ministry of Unification expects that college and graduate school students will express novel and varied perspectives on issues regarding unification and North Korea on this occasion, thereby increasing interest in unification on college campuses.
