2020 Implementation Plan for Development
of Inter-Korean Relations

The government established the 2020
Implementation Plan for Development of Inter-Korean Relations, the
third annual plan of the Third Master Plan on Development of
Inter-Korean Relations (2018-2022).
The 2020 Implementation Plan specifically addresses policy on North
Korea and has three policy goals: ① Resolution of the North Korean
Nuclear Issue and Establishment of Permanent Peace, ② Development of
Sustainable Inter-Korean Relations, and ③ Realization of a New
Economic Community on the Korean Peninsula.
Main tasks: ① Resolving the North Korean nuclear issue and
establishing a peace regime, ② Inter-Korean dialogue, ③ Inter-Korean
exchange and cooperation, ④ Implementing a New Economic Map Initiative
for the Korean Peninsula, ⑤ Humanitarian cooperation, ⑥ Settlement
support for North Korean defectors, and ⑦ Expanding consensus on
peaceful unification and improving unification capabilities.
The government will carry out programs presented in the 2020
Implementation Plan in close cooperation with appropriate departments
and work harder to stabilize relations with the North.
