On July 7, North Korea issued a statement urging the South to stop war practice against the North. North Korean media announced its decision to send a cheering squad to the Incheon Asian Game.
On July 10, North Korean media reported that North Korea’s Olympics Committee has decided to send athletes and a large number of cheering squad members and suggested holding talks at Panmunjeom on July 15.

In the White Paper published by the Korea Central News Agency on July 11, North Korea condemned the US government and argued that it is inevitable for the US to face the fall of its hegemonic status on the world stage and the current crises in the field of politics, military and economics.
