North Korean media reported that Kim Jong Un gave field guidance at the February 20 Factory of the KPA, Synthetic Food factory of the KPA Unit 534, Fishery Station No.18 under KPA Unit 567 and the KPA Air and Anti-Air Force Unit 991 from November 15 to 21.
【Inter-Korean Affairs】
On November 15, a spokesperson for the Political Bureau of the National Defense Commission urged the South to terminate the scattering of leaflets, abide by the existing agreements between the two Koreas and stop making comments on North Korea. He also added that South Korea should not expect inter-Korean dialogue or improvement in inter-Korean relations as long as the South continues its anti-North Korean activities.
On November 15, the Front Command of the Korean People's Army (KPA) made comments on the South Korean army’s warning shots at North Korea along the Military Demarcation Line. It said border patrol in the Northern side is its lawful right and threatened the South that it will pay the “unimaginable” price if it continues its military provocations.
On November 18, the Korean Central News Agency reported that North Korea and the Hyundai Asan held the 16th anniversary of the Kumgang tourim with the attendance of Hyundai staff in Mt. Kumgang.
On November 21, a spokesperson of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland commented on a South Korean civil organization’s event held to condemn the North on the occasion of the 4th anniversary of the shelling on Yeonpyeong Island. He said the shelling on the island “was a political provocation carried out by the South” and threatened to “punish those who insulted the supreme dignity of North Korea.”
【Foreign Affairs】
From November 17 to 21, North Korean media reported that Choe Ryong-hae, Director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, visited Russia as Kim Jong Un’s special envoy and that had a meeting with the Russian president.
On November 19, North Korean media reported on the remarks made by the North Korean Ambassador to the UN, in which he stated that he rejects the UN resolution on the North Korean Human Rights passed at the General Assembly on November 18.
On November 20, North Korean media reported on the Foreign Ministry’s statement, which condemned the United Nations for passing the Resolution on North Korean Human Rights.
