【Internal Affairs】

On April 1, Kim Jong Un gave field guidance at the machine factory operated by Jon Tong Ryol.

On March 31, North Korean media emphasized that domestic production is a way to protect the socialist system of the Fatherland.

On April 1, North Korean media introduced how ‘Okryu,’ the online shopping mall, uses electronic card for payment and showed the products they sell.

【Inter-Korean Affairs】

On March 30, the Secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland condemned the United Nations Human Rights Council for adopting a resolution on North Korean human rights and threatened that the UN Office on North Korean Human Rights in Seoul will become the first target of North Korea.

On March 31, in a memorandum issued by the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland, North Korea argued that the ROK-US alliance is the nation’s shame and an obstacle to peace and unification, urging the South to break up the alliance.

On April 2, a spokesperson of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland criticized the South Korean government for its demand to return the two South Korean citizens(Kim Gook-ki and Choi Choong-gil), calling it a brazen request. The spokesperson added that North Korea will ruthlessly punish those involved in anti-North Korean activities such as spying, destroying, terrorism and abduction.

【Foreign Affairs】

On March 28, a spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry stated that the UN’s adoption of the resolution on North Korean Human Rights is an attempt to justify its interference in the internal affairs and invasion of North Korea and announced its plan for a “super-hardline” response.

On March 28, in a statement issued by the North Korea-Japan Cordial Friendship Association, North Korea stated that the Japanese police must stop oppressing pro-North Korea residents in Japan if it wants to improve the relations between Japan and North Korea.

On April 2, North Korea sent a letter to the Japanese government through a diplomatic channel with regards to Japan’s political provocations and its act of violating sovereignty of state.
