On August 16, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland, in a statement, condemned the ROK President’s Congratulatory Speech on Liberation Day.
On August 17, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Korean Peace Advocacy National Committee, in a statement, denounced military cooperation between South Korea and Japan, including the ROK-Japan General Security of Military Information Agreement.
On August 18, the North Korean media reported that the North Side Preparatory Committee for the Joint Conference of Political Parties, Organizations, and Individual Personages of the North and the South and Abroad for Peace and Independent Reunification of the Korean Peninsula, in a statement, blasted the ROK government’s position on the North’s proposal to the joint conference and the ROK President’s Congratulatory Speech on Liberation Day.

On August 14, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a Q&A session with KCNA reporters, condemned South Korea regarding the introduction of Taurus, the German long-range cruise missile.
On August 15, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the DPRK Measure Committee for Demanding Compensation to Comfort Women for the Japanese Army and the Victims of Forcible Drafting, in a statement, denounced Japan for misrepresentation of history, the ROK-Japan agreement on the issue of comfort women, and a revision to Article 9 of the Constitution.
On August 17, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, blasted the United States for deployment of strategic bombers in Guam.
