【Internal Affairs】
From August 27 to September 2, the North Korean media reported Kim Jong Un’s public activities as follows: Kim 1) delivered a speech at the 9th Congress of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League and 2) posed for a commemorative photo with those involved with the successful launch of a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM).
 
On August 28, the North Korean media reported that the 9th Congress of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League was held at the Ryugyong Chung Ju-yung Gymnasium from August 27 to 28.
 
On September 2, the North Korean media reported that the latest floods caused extensive damage in North Hamgyong Province.

【Inter-Korean Affairs】
On August 27, the North Korean media reported that the Korean People’s Army (KPA)’s chief security officers at Panmunjom, in a letter of warning, condemned and threatened the ROK government for conducting the Ulchi-Freedom Guardian (UFG) military exercises.
 
On September 1, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Central Committee of the Korean Journalists Union, in a statement, denounced some South Korean media reports on the 200-day battle campaign.
 
On September 1, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the DPRK Measure Council for Human Rights in South Korea, in a statement, criticized the ROK government and the President for enforcing the North Korean Human Rights Act.
 
On September 1, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Panmunjom Mission of the KPA released a white paper condemning the UFG military exercises.

【Foreign Affairs】
On August 28, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, criticized the U.N. Security Council for adopting a press statement condemning North Korea’s SLBM launch.
 
On August 28, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a Q&A session with KCNA reporters, denounced the White House spokesperson’s remarks on the human rights situation in North Korea.
