【Internal Affairs】
From September 17 to 23, the North Korean media reported Kim Jong Un’s public activities as follows: Kim provided field guidance on 1) the Kosan Combined Fruit Farm, 2) visited the West Sea Satellite Launch Site, and 3) posed for a commemorative photo with those involved in the successful nuclear test.

From September 17 to 23, the North Korean media reported the ongoing flood recovery work in North Hamgyong Province as follows: the North completed the design of residential houses and public buildings; Premier Pak Pong Ju gave field guidance on the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex; the North reconnected railway tracks between Komusan Chongnyon Station and Musan Station; the machine industry is waging an all-out war to recover from damage; the Supung Power Station supplied electricity to the affected northern region; the railway restoration work made progress; a cement-carrying ship left the port of Nampo; researchers at the National Academy of Sciences supported the recovery work with their research results; Premier Pak Pong Ju provided field guidance on the ports of Nampo and Wonsan; and the North sent a large number of educational materials including textbooks and reference books to the region.
 
【Inter-Korean Affairs】
On September 19, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Central Committee of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front, in a statement, criticized the ROK President’s remarks on the North’s fifth nuclear test (including the security crisis situation and the national emergency situation) and instigated an anti-government campaign.

On September 22, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the General Staff Department of the Korean People’s Army, in a statement, condemned the U.S. and the ROK regarding their responses to the North’s fifth nuclear test (including the removal of the leader of North Korea and the deployment of two B-1B Lancer bombers on the Korean Peninsula).

On September 22, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Central Committee of the DPRK Red Cross Society, in a statement, denounced the ROK government’s attitude and media reports regarding the flood damage in North Korea.
 
【Foreign Affairs】
On September 19, the North Korean media reported that Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly Kim Yong Nam, in his speech at the 17th Non-Aligned Movement Summit, justified the North’s fifth nuclear test and called on the U.S. to withdraw its hostile policy toward the DPRK and sign a peace treaty.
 
From September 17 to 23, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a Q&A session with KCNA reporters, condemned the U.S.-led airstrikes on the Syrian government forces as “an intentional act of aggression on a sovereign state” and, regarding the U.S. Secretary of State’s remarks (including a reckless act of provocation), threatened that “sanctions will only harden the North’s will to revenge.”
