【Internal Affairs】
On October 18, the North Korean media reported that Kim Jong Un provided field guidance at the newly built Ryugyong General Ophthalmic Hospital.
 
On October 16, the North Korean media reported that a national meeting was held at the People’s Palace of Culture to mark the 90th anniversary of Down-with-Imperialism (DIU), the Juche revolutionary organization formed by Kim Il Sung.
 
On October 18, the North Korean media reported that the DPRK Premier made a field survey of the progress in recovery from flood damage in northern North Hamgyong Province.
 
On October 19, the North Korean media reported that the Congress of the DPRK Red Cross Society was held.
 
【Inter-Korean Affairs】
On October 15, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Central Committee of the Democratic Women's Union of Korea (DWUK), in a Q&A session with KCNA reporters, condemned the South for its internal issues and instigated an anti-government campaign.
 
From October 17 to 19, the North Korean media reported that North Korea criticized the ROK President’s remarks on the North (made at the ceremony marking the 68th Armed Forces Day and in a Cabinet meeting) and instigated an anti-government campaign in a statement by the National Alliance for Labor Groups; in a Q&A session with KCNA reporters by a spokesperson for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country of the DPRK (CPRC); and in an open questionnaire by the Korean Council for Reconciliation and Cooperation.
 
On October 20, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the National Aerospace Development Administration, in a statement, denounced the ROK delegate’s remarks on North Korea’s “satellite launch” at a meeting of the Fourth Committee of the 71st UN General Assembly.
 
On October 21, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Central Committee of the General Federation of the Unions of Literature and Arts of Korea, in a statement, condemned the South’s “blacklist of artists” controversy and instigated an anti-government campaign.
 
【Foreign Affairs】
On October 15, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, threatened that “Obama will realize what price he has to pay before he leaves the White House” in response to the remarks by Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel Russel (“Perhaps he’s got an enhanced capacity to conduct a nuclear attack and then immediately die”).
 
On October 17, the North Korean media reported that the DPRK delegate, in his speech at a meeting of the Fourth Committee of the 71st the UN General Assembly (October 13), insisted that the North “will further step up its peaceful space development.”
 
On October 20, the North Korean media reported that the DPRK delegate, in his speech at a meeting of the Sixth Committee of the 71st UN General Assembly (October 14), argued that the UN Security Council must fulfill its mission in a fair and responsible manner and that the U.S. must disband the United Nations Command in the South and withdraw all aggression forces from the Korean Peninsula.
 
On October 20, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a Q&A session with KCNA reporters, denounced the remarks by the former UN special rapporteur on human rights in North Korea - “moral sanctions against North Korea.”
