【Internal Affairs】
From March 1 to 3, the North Korean media reported Kim Jong Un’s public activities as follows: Kim 1) provided field guidance at the Headquarters of KPA Large Combined Unit 966 and 2) visited Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and planted trees with students.

On February 25, the North Korean media reported that a number of international games will be held in Pyongyang in 2017.

On February 26, the North Korean media reported that Premier Pak Pong Ju gave field guidance at key factories and enterprises in Hamhung.

【Inter-Korean Affairs】
From February 26 to March 3, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Central Committee of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front (AINDF) and a spokesperson for the Policy Department of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country of the DPRK (CPRC), in their statements, condemned the ROK President and the conservative organizations regarding the impeachment trial and instigated an anti-government campaign.

On March 1, the North Korean media reported that the DPRK denounced the Kim Jong Nam incident as a “political scheme by South Korea and the U.S.”

From March 1 to 2, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the North Korean Asia-Pacific Peace Committee and a spokesperson for the General Staff Department of the Korean People’s Army (KPA), in their statements, criticized and threatened the South regarding the ROK-US joint military drills including the Key Resolve and Foal Eagle (KR/FE) exercises.

On March 1, the North Korean media reported that the Christian Council of Korea and the Central Committee of the North Korean Christian Federation announced a joint agreement to mark the 98th anniversary of the March 1st Independence Movement.

On March 2, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the DPRK Measure Committee for Demanding Compensation to Comfort Women for the Japanese Army and the Victims of Forcible Drafting, in a statement, condemned the ROK government’s position regarding Japan’s demand for the removal of comfort women statues and instigated an anti-government campaign.

【Foreign Affairs】
On March 1, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the DPRK Measure Committee for Demanding Compensation to Comfort Women for the Japanese Army and the Victims of Forcible Drafting, in a statement, denounced Japan for “not changing its militaristic and imperialistic character” and called on it to “acknowledge and repent its past crimes and to compensate victims.”

On March 3, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a Q&A session with KCNA reporters, said that the U.S. move to redesignate North Korea as a state sponsor of terrorism showed its “inveterate repugnancy and hostile attitude toward us (North Korea),” emphasizing that “The U.S. will keenly realize how dearly it has to pay for its groundless accusations against the DPRK.”
