【Internal Affairs】

From April 23 to 26, the North Korean media reported Kim Jong Un’s public activities as follows: Kim 1) visited the April 22 Thaechon Pig Farm of the KPA Air and Anti-Air Forces, and 2) observed the strike drills by each service branch (Army, Navy, and Air Force). 

 

On April 26, the North Korean media reported that a ceremony for the completion of Hwangju Secondary School1 was held.

 

From April 24 to 27, the North Korean media reported that people began moving into new homes on Ryomyong Street and officials of the party and state visited the households.

 

【Inter-Korean Affairs】

On April 22, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Korean Council for Reconciliation and Cooperation, in a statement, criticized the ROK-US’s policy on North Korea and incited an anti-government campaign.

 

On April 27, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Policy Department of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country of the DPRK, in a statement, condemned acting President and Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn’s remarks on North Korea.

 

On April 28, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Central Committee of the Korean Journalists Union, in a statement, denounced the ROK media’s reports on the construction of Ryomyong Street.

 

【Foreign Affairs】

From April 23 to 26, the North Korean media reported that spokespersons for the Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions, the Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea, and the Central Committee of the Democratic Women's Union of Korea, in their statements, and a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a Q&A session with KCNA reporters, condemned the ROK-US's policy of pressure against North Korea.

 

On April 26, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a Q&A session with KCNA reporters, denounced a UN Security Council meeting on the North Korean nuclear issue scheduled for April 28.

 

On April 26, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Association of Korean Victims of Forcible Drafting and Their Bereaved Families, in a statement, condemned lawmakers of the Japanese ruling and opposition parties including the Liberal Democratic Party for paying a group visit to the Yasukuni Shrine (April 21).
