provided field guidance at the Pyongyang Pharmaceutical Factory along
with Ri Sol Ju.
On January 20, the North Korean media reported that an enlarged
plenary meeting of the Cabinet was held and “On measures for carrying
through the highly important tasks advanced by respected Supreme
Leader Comrade Kim Jong Un in his New Year Address” was discussed.
On January 23, the North Korean media reported that the Political
Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea
announced a decision, “On making February 8 as the founding day of the
Korean People’s Army” on January 22.
On January 25, the North Korean media reported that Premier Pak Pong
Ju gave field guidance at the construction site for establishing the
“carbon 1 chemical industry.”
On January 25, the North Korean media reported a plan to construct
the Wonsan-Kalma coastal tourist area.

On January 23, the North Korean media reported that an advance team
of officials visited South Korea on January 21-22 to inspect the
concert halls where a North Korean art troupe is scheduled to perform.
On January 23, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson
for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country of the
DPRK, in a statement, condemned South Korean conservative
organizations for burning the North Korean flag and called for an
apology, punishment of those found responsible, and prevention of any
recurrence of such incident.
On January 25, the North Korean media reported that the DPRK
government, political parties, and organizations held a meeting and
issued an appeal to all Koreans at home and abroad on January 24.

】
On January 24, the North Korean media reported that a chief press
officer of the Institute for American Studies, affiliated with the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a Q&A session with KCNA reporters,
blasted the US for deploying strategic nuclear assets in the vicinity
of the Korean Peninsula and planning a test launch of a Minuteman III
intercontinental ballistic missile.
On January 25, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson
for the DPRK-Asia Association, in a Q&A session with KCNA
reporters, denounced the adoption of “Resolution on Peace on the
Korean Peninsula” at the 26th Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF)
on January 20.
