pursue “independent reunification.”

On February 24, the North Korean media condemned the US
remarks that North Korea’s nuclear arsenal will be used to reunify the
Korean Peninsula by force.
On February 25, the North
Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Korea Asia-Pacific
Peace Committee, in a statement, denounced US Vice President Mike
Pence’s remarks made on February 22 to the effect that Kim Yo Jong,
the North Korean leader’s sister, is part of an evil family clique
that oppresses millions.
On February 25, the North Korean
media reported that a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs, in a statement, blasted the additional unilateral US
sanctions on North Korea and US President Trump’s remarks on the North
made on February 23 to the effect that if the latest sanctions do not
work, a very tough second phase will be executed.
On
February 26, the North Korean media reported that North Korea’s
Permanent Mission to the UN, in a press statement, slammed the UN
Secretary General’s remarks made on February 16 at the Munich
Security Conference that it is essential to apply sanctions and
pressure on North Korea.
On February 27, the North Korean
media reported that a spokesperson for the National Coordinating
Committee of the DPRK for Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the
Financing of Terrorism, in a Q&A session with KCNA reporters,
condemned the anti-DPRK public statement adopted on February 23 by the
Financial Action Task Force (FATF) that there are still significant
deficiencies in the DPRK’s regime for anti-money laundering and
combating the financing of terrorism and that all jurisdictions should
be aware of the dangers of North Korea’s proliferation
financing.

Studies, affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a
