【Internal Affairs】
On September 5-6, the North Korean media reported that Kim Jong Un visited the mortuary of Ju Kyu Chang, a former defense minister who was sanctioned by the US Treasury Department in 2013 for his suspected role in the regime’s nuclear and missile development programs, and met South Korean President Moon Jae-in’s special envoy delegation and posed for a commemorative photo with them.

On September 3 and 5, the North Korean media reported that Choe Ryong Hae, vice chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, provided field guidance at numerous units in Kangwon Province, the Mangyongdae Chicken Farm, and the 927 Chicken Farm.

On September 3, the North Korean media reported on the progress in the project for sprucing up Samjiyon County.

On September 1, the North Korean media encouraged the people to step up the dynamic campaign for increased production by creating a model.

On September 5, the North Korean media maintained that “we will build an economic powerhouse through our own strength.”


【Inter-Korean Affairs】
On September 7-8, the North Korean media reported that the Information Bureau of the Central Committee of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front (AINDF), in a statement, called on the South to punish the US armed forces in Korea and withdraw the US troops from the Korean Peninsula, in an effort to instigate an anti-US campaign.

On September 3, the North Korean media emphasized the independence of the Korean people in the implementation of the Panmunjeom Declaration.


【Foreign Affairs】
On September 4, the North Korean media reported that the director of the Disarmament and Peace Institute of the DPRK Foreign Ministry argued for the adoption of an end-of-war declaration on the homepage of the ministry.

On September 4, the North Korean media demanded that the US stop interfering in inter-Korean relations.

On September 6, the North Korean media denounced the US’s insistence on denuclearization first and called on the US to adopt a declaration ending the Korean War.

On September 1, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the Association of Korean Victims of Forcible Drafting and Their Bereaved Families, in a statement, blasted Japan on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the Great Kanto Earthquake.
