On October 27, the North Korean
media reported on the inter-Korean general-level military talks.
On October 29, the North Korean media reported that the inter-Korean
joint liaison office began its work in earnest.
On October 31, the North Korean media called for the removal of
legal and institutional mechanisms including the May 24 Measures.
On November 2, the North Korean media maintained that the two Koreas
should completely suspend and desist from any military measures that
may provoke the other party.
【Foreign Affairs】
On October 27, the North Korean media quoted the director of the
Pyongyang Friendship Hospital as saying that recent reports about the
fate of Otto Warmbier, who died days after he was returned comatose to
the United States, were a “total distortion of the truth.”
On October 28, the North Korean media reported that China and Russia
are increasing exchange and cooperation against US sanctions and pressure.
On November 1, the North Korean media denounced the US’s
encouragement of sanctions and pressure on North Korea as blatant
interference in internal affairs.
On November 2, the North Korean media reported that the director of
the Institute for American Studies of the Foreign Ministry suggested
that the North might return to the “Byungjin line” - equal emphasis on
nuclear weapons and the economy.
The North Korean media blasted Japan and the EU for continuing to
push for the adoption of the Resolution on the Situation of Human
Rights in the DPRK at the UN General Assembly.
