(December 29), delivered the New Year’s Address, and visited the
Kumsusan Palace of the Sun (January1).

meeting was held to mark the 7th anniversary of Kim Jong Un’s
assumption of the supreme command of the Korean People’s Army (KPA).

businesses should be based on the Party’s strategic line and policies
while emphasizing that the army should be led by the Party.

reported that the DPRK Association for Human Rights Studies issued an
open questionnaire dated December 30 addressed to the UN regarding the
adoption of the North Korean human rights resolution by the UN General Assembly.
On December 31, the North Korean media blasted the Japanese
Ambassador to the UN for commenting that the time is not yet ripe to
ease sanctions on North Korea.

Year’s Address includes messages to the White House and declares that
the US should cease clinging to sanctions-focused policy and its call
for speed control.
