the leaders of the two Koreas and the US met in Panmunjeom on June 30.

as chairman of the State Affairs Commission.
On July 1,
the North Korean media reported that Vice Chairman Pak Pong Ju of the
State Affairs Commission gave field guidance at various units in North
Pyeongan Province, including the Combined Reed Farm in Sindo County,
the Sinuiju Chemical Fibre Mill, the Taegyedo reclaimed tideland, the
Kwaksan reclaimed tideland, and the Honggondo reclaimed tideland, now
under the second phase of construction.
On July 1, the North Korean media stated that the people should be
prepared for damage from heavy rain during the monsoon season.
On July 3, the North Korean media reported that Premier Kim Jae
Ryong provided field guidance at the February 8 Jikdong Youth Coal
Mine, the Kumpho Mine, the State Academy of Sciences, the Sunchon
Coal-mining Machine Factory, and the construction site of an important
power plant in Haeju Bay.
On July 3, the North Korean media emphasized the importance of
education on self-reliance, saying that it is an important part of
ideological education along with “five-point education.”

statement, said that US President Trump’s proposal to meet Kim Jong Un
at the DMZ would be “an interesting suggestion.”
On June 29, the North Korean media reported that the delegation of
the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of
the Fatherland paid a visit to the chairman of the Chinese People’s
Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee.
On July 1, the North Korean media published an article marking the
98th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
On July 2, the North Korean media condemned Japan’s deployment of
the Aegis Ashore missile defense system.
On July 3, the North Korean media reported that Kim Hyong Ryong, the
Vice Minister of the People’s Armed Forces, held talks with Russian
Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin and discussed friendship and
cooperative relations between the DPRK and the Russian militaries.
