On July 13, the North Korean media, in an
editorial, stated that self-reliance is an eternal lifeline to Korean revolution.
On July 14, the North Korean media reported that Premier Kim Jae
Ryong gave field guidance at the Eunhye cooperative farm in Euncheon,
the Wonpyeong cooperative farm in Eunryul, and the Seokjeong
cooperative farm in Hwangju; and inspected the water management of
Lake Taesong.
On July 15, the North Korean media emphasized the importance of the
great army-people unity, saying that it is the basic source that
created a self-reliant strong state and a powerful weapon that raised
up North Korea.
On July 15, the North Korean media reported that Pak Pong Ju, vice
chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea,
inspected farms in South Hwanghae Province.
On July 18, the North Korean media reported that Premier Kim Jae
Ryong provided field guidance in North Hamgyeong Province at the Kim
Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, the construction site of the Orangchon
Power Station, the Chongjin Steel Plant, the Musan Mining Complex, and
the Ripseok cooperative farm in Myeonggang.
On July 19, the North Korean media reported that the nomination of
candidates for deputies to provincial, city, and county people’s
assemblies closed on July 17.
【Inter-Korean Affairs】
On July 13, the North Korean media
stated that the South was the side that diplomatically isolated itself
and called on Seoul to implement the inter-Korean declarations independently.
On July 16, the North Korean media urged the South to end its
dependence on foreign powers and to carry out the inter-Korean declarations.
【Foreign Affairs】
On July 14, the North Korean media
blasted Japan’s restrictions on exports to South Korea.
On July 16, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, condemned the
Alliance 19-2 joint military exercises, saying that “This is clearly a
breach of the main spirit of June 12 DPRK-US Joint Statement and
undisguised pressure upon us.”
On July 16, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a Q&A session with KCNA
reporters, stated that if the Alliance 19-2 exercises are conducted,
it would affect the working-level negotiations between Pyeongyang and Washington.
On July 17, the North Korean media reported that North Korean
Central Court President Kang Yun Sok, who led the delegation of the
Central Court to China, met with Chief Justice Zhou Qiang from the
Chinese Supreme People’s Court on July 16.
On July 17, the North Korean media reported that North Korean
Central Court President Kang Yun Sok met with the chairman of the
Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the Communist Party
of China and the Chinese Minister of Justice
On July 18, the North Korean media condemned Japan’s argument for
the possibility of the South exporting strategic goods to the North
regarding its restrictions on exports to the South.
On July 19, the North Korean media emphasized the importance of
friendship with Russia on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the
DPRK-Russia Joint Declaration.
